(Caracas, October 11, 2011)-- Jonathan Blum returns to Venevision, Venezuela’s leading television channel and production company of the Cisneros Group of Companies, as Vice President & General Manager, part of the organizational changes at the station to generate greater capacity and agility in the decision-making process and daily operations. Blum was part of the Venevision team from 2001 to 2008 as its Director of Development.
Miguel Dvorak, who holds the titles of President & Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Cisneros Group of Companies and Executive President of Venevision, made the announcement and stressed that with the addition of Blum, the current infrastructure at the channel will be divided in two areas: on one part Manuel Fraiz-Grijalba, Executive Vice President of Venevision with a proven track record and long employment history at the channel, will oversee all matters related to production, programming, image and promotions; while Jonathan Blum, on his part, will be responsible for engineering and technical operations, production services and the departments of Marketing, Sales, and Alternative Media; Administration & Finance, Human Resources, Legal and Security at the facility.
Jonathan is a dedicated professional with an interesting combination of expertise. Educated as a Civil Engineer, he worked for a number of years as a consultant for McKinsey & Company. It was there that he discovered his passion for television, consequently joining the Venevision family. Blum went on to become part of the executive team at E! Entertainment, taking the position of Vice President of Commercial Operations with the primary responsibility of boosting E!’s growth strategy in the region.
