New York and Caracas-based Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros has announced a grant to support attendance by Latin American museum professionals at each annual conference of the International Committee for Museums and Collections of Modern Art.
Interested professionals can apply to a committee of the Paris-based International Council of Museums, which will make the selection. Criteria include financial need and the potential benefit to the applicant's development and/or research. The Cisneros grant covers registration, travel and lodging expenses up to $1,500. This year's conference, Fair Trade: The Institution of Art in the New Economy, is Nov. 9-10 at Mexico City's Museo Tamayo Arte Contemporáneo and the Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporáneo. Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros is an educational program of Fundación Cisneros.
