Grupo Planeta of Spain and Grupo Cisneros of Venezuela have been admitted onto the Registro Unico de Operadores de TV Nacional Privada (RUO) for contenders for a third national terrestrial channel by Colombia’s Comision Nacional de Television (CNTV). They make it onto the RUO after two months of studies by the CNTV. Grupo Prisa of Spain needs to present one final document to join the other two on the register, a document (from the Spanish government confirming that the group is a TV content producer in Spain) that should be ready soon. The CNTV should have paperwork for the tender ready in November, a month by which the two banks contracted to establish the value of this third terrestrial concession should have reported back to the CNTV.
