The Cisneros Group of Companies is committed to improving the quality of life of Latin Americans through dynamic educational and cultural programs. Developed and administered by the companies of the Cisneros Group and by the Fundación Cisneros (www.fundacion.cisneros.org), these programs are based on the belief that education and freedom of expression are the foundations of a democratic society.

Highlights of Fundación Cisneros programs include AME (Actualización de Maestros en Educación) (www.ame.cisneros.org), a successful initiative that leverages the distance-technologies of the Cisneros Group to create comprehensive training courses for teachers across the region, and Piensa en Arte, an art-in-education program that helps build critical thinking and language skills in schoolchildren. This is based on the Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros, an art collection that is the basis for exhibitions, publications, and educational initiatives (www.coleccioncisneros.org). In addition, the Fundación contributes content to cl@se (www.clase.net), the Cisneros Group’s educational television channel.

A private philanthropic organization, the Fundación Cisneros leverages the technological and communication resources of the Cisneros Group to ensure that these and other programs reach the broadest possible public.
